I'm feeling a need to blog in support of a good cause real quick.

Montana Meth

I found their site on a cure-the-boredom site for the sake of their ads. I said sure, why not, and watched. The first one instantly caught my attention to make me watch the rest. These actually do a good job to get their point across.

For those who may be looking in from outside of California, I'll explain: the anti-drug ads here ... they suck so much nut. They've compared the smoking of marijuana to ... wait for it ... choosing to regularly put leeches on one's own skin. "Yes, drug use is all peer pressure and not about pleasure AT ALL." In reality, only one thing gets the don't do drugs point across: fear. We just tend to think otherwise because of the Reefer Madness shit from the thirties.

In truth though, all you have to do to deter a person from meth is to show them a meth addict, much like with almost any drug. I say almost because I know many people in my life who are pot smokers, and so few seem to be extremely negatively effected.

California, we need to get a fucking decent advert against drugs into our state lines. You focus too much on Marijuana, you focus too much on making stuff up, and it's like you guys ONLY get your ads from the sixth grader contests! California, you need to tell Above the Influence to go fuck themselves and their SLOMMING and find a better anti-drug program. Kids need facts, not propaganda, and you'd be surprised how good kids are at telling the difference!

Look, at any rate, give Montana Meth a visit and support their cause, cos they're doing a damn good job of making their point!

Dude rock on with what you say.

The war on drugs is a joke. billions of dollars a year and this is what happens -

1.it is in every school (dealers rarely check for id)
2. innocent people die (cops taking down drug dealers, kids caught in crossfire, drug dealers arguing about turf get into gun fight-they can't go to court to settle disputes) We arrest tons of dealers, there is a vacuum for demand and they are replaced by many the very same day by the hungry junkies.
3. Filling our prisons with non-violent offenders
4. what people decide to do with their own bodies is the peoples choice.
5. Laws can not govern people wanting to hurt themselves, unless they are under the age of 18.

Final Note:

50,000 die from alcohol every year
450,000 die every year from smoking
0 die from weed (throw 20,000 into that and does not even dent smokers and still does not comes close to alcohol related deaths)

best of all look at prohibition and what happened with that.
