How about a moldy strawberry to start your Saturday morning? Horff!

Actually, no, it's not how I'm starting my morning. My morning started four hours ago. Being sick and having a temperamental sleep habit because of it resulted in me being awake the moment I realized I had the slightest bit of sunlight in my window [and do trust me, it was slight]. The boy was just used to getting up early like that anyway thanks to work. So our day started at 7 am, though nothing really interesting happened aside from him going "today's gonna suck, I don't wanna!" Oh, and the mutual rapings. Yummy.

I seem to be a really good massive disgusting sneeze away from normal health, which makes me a happy camper indeed. I had some God-awful tension in my shoulders and neck, making me think that a release of toxins massage thing my mom gave me a few days before I got so sick might have been the culprit for why I got so randomly sick. But yeah, that tension is gone and I'm happy for it. It sucked and gave me headaches. Wah.

So I'm gonna try to cut three things out of my diet, maybe even the diet of the household: sugar, wheat flour, and high fructose corn syrup. The last one ... doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell in the way of the family doing it, but the first two I have health reasons for. See, the last several months I've been plagued with urinary tract infection after bladder infection after urinary tract infection, etc. I was vaguely aware of sugar fucking it up, but not wheat flour. And those are basically [from what I understand] the only two dietary things that make infections like that get so bad so quickly (well, that and caffeine but aside from the occasional coffee take out soda and I'm not much of a caffeine consumer ... oh, and I'm not a "lush" at all, so no alkiehawl). The yeast multiplies or something gross like that. So, cut those two out, and in theory I should be able to take control of the problem enough to either 1) not have to go on meds again or 2) go on meds and have them actually work long-term.

We'll call it my super-late New Year's Resolution.

By the way, random thought: don't pursue a constantly healthy lifestyle, because then when you get sick, you have nothing to turn to to flush your system and you end up like my sister's health nut friend who had a yeast infection for eight months or something crazy long like that.

Okay, well, I'm gonna go get myself some water and some more fruits and maybe even some vitamins. I feel like stealing a catchphrase, so live long and prosper. Vulcan hand sign thing.

Well, I got the fever to go down, so as of now I'm either at average temperature or a degree or two above (having had ice water a couple minutes before resulted in the thermometer trying to tell me I was at 97 ... meh.)

I've been having some odd spells of ... something. Almost like fatigue, but it's less full on and more just physical. Like, just lay down all day and I won't clog your ears and make you feel dizzy.

I'm being forced to go to Safeway to pick up my birth control (thanks, Mom, for being so aware of my current health and listening to me and all that ... well, at least she's still paying for it) so I'm gonna do that here in a couple minutes, but first ... Fiona Apple's rendition of "Across the Universe" is one of the prettiest songs ever.

So somehow I got sick. When I last checked a few hours ago, I had a 102 fever, though since my ability to sweat has come back that might not be so bad anymore. A vague feeling I swallowed razorblades. A stuffy nose. Shoulders so tense and glands so swollen I feel like I have the upper body of a professional body builder.

Then my mom was mad at me most of the day because I was too sick to help with yard work. Well, some of it is that my dad also disappeared for the harder jobs to eat and take a nap. But yeah, between me having a fever and me just having my teeth pulled, you'd think someone would be watching over me to make sure the two things weren't connected and that I wasn't gonna just get really really bad really really fast, right? Wrong. I was left alone all day with no one to talk to or anyone even watching to make sure I didn't just get worse, and my mom even had the nerve to tell me that lying in bed all day would make my system weak and that I'd just end up sick all the time. I'm not in the wrong to be mad at her, am I?

My stomach's been taking some pleasure in turning upside down and backwards at inopportune moments today. House roommate Stacey made the connection that it was a lack of protein in my system, so I've had some yogurt and cheese [not at once, ew] and similar things to fight off the medicine - induced crap feelings.

Which reminds me, my house has an interesting dynamic right now. It's a total of five of us: my mom, my dad, my sister, Stacey, and of course myself. My sister's thirty, but living here because when she and her ex-husband divorced she didn't have anything, so my dad kind of invited her without my mom's full consent. Not that my mom would have said no, but it was just a bit of a wtf for awhile there. And then Stacey is my cousin's ex girlfriend. My cousin did her dirty, and so my dad took her in, despite my mom kind of being like "we barely know this woman" (which was and basically is still true: she lived in Pennsylvania and we'd seen her a total of twice before she moved in). Now, Stacey's saying that my dad's gonna kick my mom out within a couple weeks. Why not just right now? Mom made the connection: she does his taxes!

I'm starting to get confused, because my parents have never been this nasty before. Sure, they've had knock out drag out fights, and shit's gone down, but suddenly things feel like they went from "yep, just like always" to "we're probably gonna murder each other by the end of the year". I don't know, it's hard to explain.

Anyway, I'm tired and I have a big-ish day tomorrow, and I also got deterred from the original point, so I'm gonna try to get some sleep and think about less major things.
